In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Livonia; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Michigan are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 amβ9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Livonia is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Livonia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

It has been an ongoing search for "Good Chinese". The Happy Wok's food was just ok. Pieces of shrimp not even whole, weak brown sauce, but at a good price.

Ordered the Mongolian Chicken. Tasted it when we got home. It was so hot our mouths, lips, and tongues were burning like crazy! It was not supposed to be hot! You couldn't taste anything but HOT! It was horrible. Wasted all that money and food. And since they are a good 35-40 minutes away from home it wasn't like we could just hop in the car and easily go back. The portions were good sized but adding that super intense heat that cancelled out any flavor the portion size didn't matter. The egg rolls were excellent. They were the only thing we could eat. I don't recommend this place at all. We were so looking forward to this but they don't know how to make food! Don't bother going.

I dont really write reviews normally but I was very disappointed with the shrimp in the honey walnut shrimp that was delivered to me, the breading as what other reviews say was incredibly dry and it was lacking my sides, there was no white rice and there was no egg rolls included in my bag. It might have been forgotten and that mishap may be okay but I dont think it was worth it.

I have gotten shrimp lo mein at many take out places over the years and I got theirs from the lunch menu. I have done that before at other places and even when it said choices of fried rice or white rice that didn't apply to the noodle dishes. Here it did. When I opened the Styrofoam container, it was half rice. There was fewer shrimp than what I was use to getting. The egg roll was average but the lo mein was below. I can't understand why this got more stars from others but they probably don't have my history eating great or good Chinese. I won't be back.

2nd visit(takeout): The housemade hot mustard and sweet and sour was everything I was looking for to make those egg rolls sing! Fried dumplings were excellent and had a perfect char. The Sechzwan beef was great and at a good spicy level for me. The order was quick and notification for pickup was completed. The order was correct and the packaging excellent. I just found my new neighborhood Chinese joint! I'll be back soon. Overall a good fast casual Chinese restaurant. Decent egg rolls, a little greasy. Packaged hot mustard and sweet sauce are horrible. Wonton soup was good, the mix in the wonton needs salt. Very good House Special Low mein, a little more vegetables would be better. The House Special Chili pepper trio is good but lacked the punch I expected. The fried rice was a little oily. I will try again.
